Poverty + Beauty = Rocinha. A favela beautifully situation in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. This shot gives me mixed feelings because while it is beautiful, I have seen up close how poor some of these people are. Ironically, this shot was taken from the American School in Rio de Janeiro - one of the wealthy private schools in the area of Gavea -  and this view was a constant reminder to my children who attended there, to count their blessings.
